Introducing Ashley...my new intern!

Looking back...waaaaaaaaaay back...I remember what it was like to be an intern at the movie studios in Hollywood.  How completely intimidating!  I would be barked at & often felt so small.  But it was also a great learning experience for me.  I learned a lot about dealing with ridiculous egos & focused on my tasks and doing them with excellence.  Now that I'm the one mentoring young interns, I try to be mindful of how I'm treating them and what impact I have on them.  I want young people to flourish and thrive in this environment, instead of leaving feeling defeated & deflated.  I'm well aware of their need to learn and how exciting it can be to be around a bustling news station.  I get very excited when I interview and select quality interns, so I'm proud to introduce the latest one...meet Ashley!  She drives down from Orange County to San Diego for her internship & is a total sweetheart!  I love it when people just 'get it' & she's certainly someone who's already got it together.  :)

I threw her on TV a couple of times today (her very first time being on live television) & she said she had a good time!

Super cute 4th of July party ideas!  I love it when #whitelilacinc comes on the show...she brings the cutest things!  I wish she would host all of my parties! This was Ashley's second moment on TV!  :)

Ashley went on a donut run (after she went on a Starbucks run...yay Ashley!), and when she walked back into the studio, I had her come into the green screen to show us what she brought back.  This was her first moment on TV!
